A stupid idea for a thread, but whens the last time I had a good idea?

You know there are certain songs that you think, "If I could do the world a favor, I'd make everyone listen to..." insert song name. I'll start...

"Meat Sandwich" by Gwar. Why? I dunno, it's just awesome by every definition. It may be my favorite Gwar song, but I dunno ****ing an animal is up there. Also, not a must download, but if you wanna see what happens when you ask my guitarist to write a song The Ballad of Larry and Cathrine by Pizzlestains Deluxe. Truth be told, I think the song is awful. So don't worry so much about that... but do worry about getting "Meat Sandwich" by GWAR. Now what song is your gift to the world?
  2. have you ever seen the video for meat sandwich? get it; it is awesome!!!
    my "must download"'s a couple
    "summer" by mogwai
    "saturday" by yo la tengo
    "crystal mountain" by Death
    "aggresive perfector" by slayer

[edit: yeah, you expected nirvana, didn't you;) ]

Oh yeah, my friend has the DVD with every GWAR video on it. So cool. It also has the video for ****ing an animal, but it is censored and everytime they swear it makes an animal noise. It's great.

Sparta is an excellent band. I've had the pleasure of seeing them live a few times. I've met the guys numerous times and they are the some of the nicest "rockstars" I've talked to.

Here's some shots of me and my friend Matt with ATDI in Paris (Feb 2001). I'm the one in the black shirt. The first shot is with Mike D from the Beastie Boys:

  10. if you like cake, download the "i will survive" cover, the bassline is sweet as, if you can play that line for the full 5 minutes, and you hand doesn't hurt, then you're my hero!

Mother, the man in the black scares me..... HE SCARES ME MOTHER!!! HE'S LOOKING RIGHT AT ME! NOOOOOOOOO

Then, i'm your hero? It's not that hard of a bassline.
  12. FLOYDtheBARBER - Yes, I do like Sparta, but I like Defacto and The Mars Volta a lot more. Omar is one of my favorite guitarists but he plays some pretty nice bass in Defacto, check them out if you havent yet, they're excellent. BTW, I like ATDI more than those other 3 bands.

PollyBass - Cake is an extremely underrated band adn have an excellent bass player, Im surprised more people here dont mention them.

Nate Dawg - I was actually going to ass that MCD song(cause I was listening to it while I was posting), but i didnt for some reason.
  13. Matt, this is an EXCELLENT idea for a thread.
