i've only been in the bass world for a few months here, and i use this site's tab section for all of my tabs. but where can you find individual songs, or themes to tv shows/video games/commercials? it seems as though if you dont know the artist, you're screwed where do i get themes and stuff?
You are getting very sleepy. You are now under the bass instructors spell... You will record whatever riff that catches your ear... You will practice figuring out bass lines by ear... You are now on the road to learning, grasshopper. When I snap my fingers you will forget all about tabs.
Ok does every thread where someone asks a simple question do we have to turn it into a debate about the worthwhileness of Tabs? Face it they are helpful for beginners, they were helpful for me but no longer are now that I play by ear. If it hadn't been for the tabs section I would have never found Talkbass so leave the Tabbers alone. To answer you question Matt there is a misc. section to the tabs that you can get theme songs from. They have holiday songs, show theme songs and the what not, so just look for what you want there.
I figured out how to play 'silent night' by ear and now i perform many different versions of it for anybody who will listen. i go from the traditional all the way to a heavy metal version i developed. i need a new one for christmas 2001, any suggestions?
I fully realize that Tab does have a useful place in the scheme of things. I have been known to *gasp* use tab before. Forgive me.
Apparently, that's what most of us do around here. Hey, it's a good way to boost people's post counts, right -- dog someone for reading TAB. EDIT: Check out www.mxtabs.net or www.basstabz.com. I think they both have a "themes" section.
hey im a begginer and i use tabs.well i dont use them much any more cuz im really trying to play by ear.i only use them for hard songs. www.tabcrawler.com has alot theme songs, holiday stuff,etc... im trying to play the seinfeld theme song...
