there's just SOMETHING about a simple ash bodied 4 string fretted...

don't get me wrong, i adore exotic topped basses.

but, i've recently played some 4 banger, ash bodied, fretteds that just KILLED!!!!!

my recent MODINE acquisition led me in this direcshum.

i still like playing 5 string fretless.

but manomanoman...there's nothing like a 4 string fretted passive P (non-fender) that just gets me going!

could be my amp setup too.

    teeth sinking feel and tone!

I'm still on the prowl for something to put some tapewounds on:)

I was talking to a guy yesterday and the subject of more strings=more wanking came up. I find that I do my busiest playing on 4 strings. Sometimes I find I need to set [Chihuahua Mode=off].

My old G&L L2000E is a perfect example. Plain and kicks some serious booty.

    funny you mentioned a G&L.

that's one of the 4 string basses i played that was tonz o' fun.

i know what you mean about gettin' busy...after playing 5ers for so long, i feel like i can do back flips on a 4. but, then i settle down.

its weird, i "groove" differently on a 4 than i do a 5. i'm preferring the 4 these days. but, you know how fickel we TBer's are. tomorrow will be a different story.

tapewounds, eh? i forget, have you played many Rob Allens?

i SERIOUSLY miss my 4 string RA MB2.

That's what got the tapewound hunt started. I'd get an RA if I could get a "me" kind of deal;)

You know us rich guys with money to burn:D
