This song is apparently a joke, but pretty hilarious anyway, at least for people understanding some Swedish. I have no clue how it passed to the Swedish finals in the Eurovision Song Contest (ok, agreed the level is not that high anymore)....

The thing with this song is that when the first words in the title of the song (Oh när ni = Oh when you) is pronounced or sung, it sounds like the word "onani" (= masturbation). So the title is "Oh, when you take things in your own hands" (used in the meaning take charge of things), but the listener hear "Masturbation - take things in your own hands". The whole song is filled with ambiguous lyrics, too. I LMFAO'ed when I heard it the first time anyway.

Oh, forgot to mention that the song is singed by a group consisting of drag queens only...

The funny thing is... If they sang in a language that I wouldn't be able to understand, I would take this as semi serious... just can't understand the whole "lol-metal" thing, and all that people screaming...

I really don't think people are watching because of the talent. At least I hope not. Incidentally, I heard that the singer was a reject for the Geico caveman commercials.

 

it's not really new......there's plenty of bands (such as "Anal Blast", perhaps more popular because some of their members left to join/form slipknot) that started a movement of metal calling themselves "porno metal." There's plenty of dirty Sh!t out there but as far as I'm concerned, it's only trash if there isn't satisfying musical content included. otherwise, it's not something i look upon very proudly is all.

 

That singer reminds me of the Tasmanian devil.

I'm still disappointed that Tom Green's The Bum Bum Song wasn't given the same artistic recognition as Beethoven's 5th, Miles Davis's Bitches Brew, or The Beatles's White Album. Damn pretentious music critics who like to have their favorites!
