I'm a beginning bassist with short fingers, but large ass palms. My problem is getting around the fretboard up to the top string. ANyone know of any ideas or a certain bass with a skinny neck?

Place your thumb on the back of the neck, not on top of it.

My hands looks like that but I can reach anywhere on my bass.

    Curbow basses - very thin

These are a few thin-profile necks you can find. I'd also suggest working on your technique. I pretty much have stumps, and I don't have a problem with most necks. Even Jack Bruce has short fingers, and it doesn't seem to have affected his playing! :D

Yep. I would encourage you to work on your technique. It will only help you down the road.

Most all jazz style basses have pretty thin necks.

A Fender jazz being the standard with others following.
