Of course there are many many things you won't see that often, what do you ''miss'' in some cases with production basses?

For me, it's the amount of bass guitars that come with 26 frets. Most luthiers only offer this for custom made bass guitars, or when people have their own signature bass (like the Yamaha TRB JP2).

Magnetic rear cavity covers. Not sure I've ever seen it in standard production basses, only custom luthiers typically. Great idea though, so easy and looks great too.

  8. I have 2 zero fret basses, one is a custom but one is an off the shelf. (status and sandberg)

Magnetic control covers I'd like to see more of, and reverse P pickups.

    I like turtles.
Adjustable nuts. The Warwick one is brilliant. I'm not sure why it hasn't been universally adopted. No more ruining your nut and having to get a new one every time you want to adjust the action.

  16. I was going to mention the adjustable nut on the Warwicks too. I also like the adjustable bridge (for string spacing). Rare (if ever) to see that on other basses. Another one is threaded inserts for pickup and control cavity screws.

  17. I'd like to see a fender 5 string fretless in a production bass. Jazz or pj I don't even care anymore.
