Thinking about putting some fabric over my rig

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by learning_towalk, Sep 15, 2004.

  1. my aunt is pretty crafty with material and fabric glue. I found some really cool blue paisley fabric...has anyone ever just put material over tolex/carpet without stripping it first? if so how did it turn out? or should I just leave my stuff how it is?

Do yourself a favor and leave it be... You like almost all bassists, are fickle with your gear and easily susceptible to GAS. When it comes time to trade it in you'll thank me. ;) :p

Maybe replace your grill cloth if you really like the paisley and will keep the cab. Leave the tolex alone.
  5. ok thanks for the tips

How about having her make you a slip cover for your cabinet that has an opening for the grille cloth to speak through?...or have her sew some new grille cloth of appropriate color in the front.
