James Tyler doesn't seem to be making basses anymore and I'm wondering if anyone out there has seen one floating around cuz I've been jonesing quite substantially for over a decade now. I'm getting old damnit!

I've only ever seen one, it was on ebay many many years ago and I thought it was too much - I decided to wait for the next one.

There has never been a next one!

The best thing to do would be to put a post in the classifieds here on TB and give a call to all the big bass shops and put a bug in their ear on finding one for you.

Well...that seems reasonable. What type of bug would you recommend I use?

    ;)

I personally prefer a leech or a dung beetle

    :p

Actually someone here put one up for sale at Bass Palace and it was mentioned in another "Tyler, where are they?" thread, and then the guy bought it back from them, realizing what he had given up. The pic is still on their website as a painful reminder to me.

...Moral of the story, if you see something exceedingly rare that you've been waiting years for....buy the damn thing before it's too late.

  8. I think he IS making basses. Give the shop a call to verify.

You may want to check out www.rockcityguitar.com

They are a Tyler dealer, and they also have had a used one there for quite some time.

Yeah give Cory a call... he usually can get Tylers, even rare ones...

  12. I'm not positive, but a couple of my friends out here have said that they've talked to Tyler about building basses. Can't hurt to ask. It might hurt when you find out how much they're gonna cost, though.

Y'know, I thought I saw a Tyler at Ed Roman's over in Vegas a few months ago.

I emailed Tyler guitars and finally got a reply from Yannic. Apparently nothing coming out in the "near future", but keep checking the website for "updates".

Good things come to those who wait I guess...
