I tried the $$ and thought the tone was great. Then I tried a bongo through the same amp, cab, and settings and it blew the $$ away. It's also a couple hundred less. Almost the same tone just more defined and clear.

I never played a Warwick because I thought think looked hideous, all of 'em. I picked up a passive Corvette last week at GC for a goof, thinking the red stain looks ugly. Plugged in, played the main riff of Jungle Boogie, and was blown away - ballsy, deep, growly Jazz tone and a round neck that felt really good.

I don't know about that $$ sound, but if it sounds and plays good and you can afford it, might as well jump!

I love my corvette $$ but dislike the thick neck past the 12th fret. sounds like a monster!

  4. Hey mate I'll try a find the pics I took when I borrowed a blackwood $$ for the weekend. Lets just say it rated 12 out of 10 on the sexiness scale when i showed my band mates!!

  5. Thx m8,
How did you find the front pickup in relation to the neck for slapping?
