That swirly bubinga is pretty sweet. And the LEDs can be great on dark stages. But I don't like that the LED side dots correspond to where the face dots on a fretted bass would be. I'd prefer if a fretless had side dots that correspond to where the fret itself would be on a fretted bass. Seems more intuitive to me since when I play, I tend to fret my notes practically on the fret rather than smack dab between both of them.

EDIT: And haven't I seen swirly bubinga 'wicks like that in the hands/pics of other TBers?

  3. O well. I'd sell my Thumb to buy that, because I feel it's even nicer than the Thumb, and totally unique!

Is the seller implying he bought it direct from warwick? If so, don't you think it's an expensive way to find out you can't play fretless? He says it's over £2k. Perhaps this is the chap who won the bass mag giveaway.

  14. It's blonde bubinga! I didn't know that existed.

The person in the auction actually says both...in the item description, they say that the, "LED indicators are placed at -fret position-..." but them in answering that one person's question, says that, "They mark the place where the usual position markers would be..."

Hmm....somebody not know their bass or what??

Not to mention that I have a fretless corvette and the neck markers are right on the notes (or frets if you prefer) not in the middle where the normal dots are on a fretted.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I don't like that finish. I do like the LED's.

  19. The 2002 Ltd. Edition Corvette FNA Jazzmen all have bubinga similar to that- I should know, I have one! It's highly figured and very beautiful.
