Born Martina Michéle Weymouth on Nov. 22, 1950, she combined the minimalist art-punk bass lines of groups such as Wire and Pere Ubu with danceable, disco inflected riffs to provide the bedrock of the Heads' signature sound along with drummer and husband Chris Frantz. The couple, who have two sons, also participated in the Tom Tom Club side project. She has also recently worked with the Gorillaz.</p>

  2. Her work with the talking heads is amazing. I had no idea it was a woman bassist playing until last night. She is awesome.

Tina Weymouth is awesome, one of the most elegant bassists out there! Definitely one of my inspirations. :)

Agreed. And Tina has certainly done quite a bit with quite a little. She fully admits she'd never played bass before joining The Talking Heads.
