    this sucks. :help:

seriously dude, if it looks like it's gonna hit by monday, get a uhaul, load up everything you'd be really sad to lose, and head inland until it passes.
  7. Naw, sit outside with ur amp and bass and play a nice calming song to calm the storm... :)

Looks like the eye is restructuring, causing a slight wobble to the south. The restructuring will cause it to weaken some, although the GFS and UKMET favor a west to west-northwest track putting it closer to Florida rather than farther north. However a high pressure trough on the western end could cause a more westward steering as well, this could be further assisted by the cooler water left by the Fiona. The next 48 huors are critical.

well, the category 1's are ok and the 2s arent too bad, but this thing is a category 5! im about 70-80 miles inland but the last big hurricane we had (which was a strong 3 when it got to us) was devestating. there were multiple torandoes from it, and thats what worries me. i dont mind the rain and thunderstorms from hurricanes, but that wind is atrocious. im looking out my back window at a large pine tree right now, wondering if it would survive that kinda wind... :(

oh yeah, thanks for the well wishes guys.

Do some research on Hurricane Andrew.

    That was a 4 that became a 5 for a short time.

I survived, but a lot of people didnt.

There was a great pictorial on Hurricane Andrew
in National Geographic analyzing the effects of its windforce on South Florida a few years back.

This is a MAJOR hurricane. Last one we got here
was Bob, and down near Newport RI where I am, we got creamed.

But, everybody knows, North Carolina is always the big winner every year!

This is a good day to be sure you have:

    • Full tank of gas in your car
    • Full propane tanks, 2 or 3 hopefully...
    • Duct Tape
    • Plywood for the picture windows
    • Rope to tie down that crud in your yard
    • Bottled water
    • Fresh flashlight batteries
    • Food for a week
    • Cash [ no electricity, no ATM! ]
    • Your boat out of the water
    • Couple of board games
    • Playing cards ...

    I'm sure I missed plenty.

I'm glad I put on my own roof. I storm nailed it,
6 nails per shingle. NO STAPLES! It ain't goin' nowhere.

Mike Money, believe me, on hurricane is enough to cure you forever!

  18. Best of luck, Defeldus. Wherever Isabel hits she's eventually going to find her way up here to the Northeast, as most hurricanes do, albeit greatly weakened.

  19. good luck Defie...

    I have family near there...

  20. Take your basses and run to RI, nothing hits here.
