I was lookin at that earlier today. I've wanted a natural/butterscotch RD for a while now.

  3. Kinda hard to judge how it looks, since it seems like the guy has it on a dark red table (or he has poor lighting).

I still think it looked cool though. I'd definately buy it for the $1 price it has now

It's a 70's Gibson RD Artist. I think it has a 34.5" scale, and the preamp was designed by Bob Moog. I owned one for a while, and I thought the preamp was unbearably noisy. Other people have had better experiences with them. Great passive tone, though!

  7. Looks nothing like a Fender, and it's almost pointy. Must be garbage.

  8. erm....weird

  9. built in effects by Moog.

It's not the prettiest thing around but you can't deny it's uniqueness. Also, not sure if possible but Would look better with no pickguard. String thru body too.

When I bought mine that's what I was thinking... but it's just a preamp, no effects. People use the "onboard electronics by Bob Moog" line in their ads because they know it will make people think they are getting some kind of special filter effect, but no...

So what exactly does the Moog preamp do?

Oh, it boosts the signal, and the EQ boosts or cuts the highs and lows. :meh:
The added bonus, in the case of the one I owned, was a generous amount of extra noise.

I was thinking the pickguard is poo as well. It'll be interesting to see what it ends up selling for.
