this is the back, does it look like the right tuners?
They don't look correct for a Geddy but one of the Fender experts should be along shortly.
You don't need to start a new thread. Just post in the one you already made.
Probably a replacement neck/tuners (if it's a legit Geddy at all).
For me, the neck is the biggest selling point on that bass.
it also says crafted in china not Japan.
Iam trying to buy this bass but I dont know if they made any in china or not.
mine says crafted in japan and there is no writing on the tuners. geddy signature on the back of the headstock. this is a 2004 model.
Don't buy that bass, its not a Geddy. Those are dirt cheap tuners, and that neck cut doesn't look like a Fender porfile at all. Looks like a cheap copy to me.
That is not a Geddy. Don't buy it.
That headstock is either way too big and the tuners are out of place, or both...
To my knowledge, they've always been Japanese.
Thanks everyone!!! I will stay clear.
the signature by itself makes it clear it's not a geddy
Here's the thing, no one, other than the OP ever even suggested it was a Geddy Lee.
Front of headstock pic might have been a good idea if you want help ID-ing it.
Who's signature is that? Looks like it says Mayor McCheese.
Hells no! That signature is Mickey Mantle. Extremely rare bass, note the baseball bat neck profile.
Looks like Mayat Murdey to me. ( I flipped the pic sideways.) Who that may be is anyones guess. Local (in their own mind) legend perhaps?
