I had and loved this bass as a 5-stringer (now sold). So I had Mike make me a quad version. Bartolini mag with mid-range control, plus Fishman piezo bridge pickup. Just a wonderfully versatile instrument. I am looking forward to the brown truck arriving in the driveway.
Nice. Flamed (with a little curl in it,too) on the back. Man,I bet those would absolutely kill fretless. What kinda strings do you plan on using?
man that's badass... also ditto on the strings... i presume rounds of some type? might i suggest either rotosound 99's (piano strings) or marcus miller fat beams. sound clips, PLEASE
Thanks. It is lined fretless and will come with TI flats (what I settled on with the fiver). Gave me everything from uprighty to down and dirty. I do use Roto Trubass 88s on another acoustic fretless.
I live about 5 minutes away from Mike, I love his basses and have always wanted one, that one looks awesome.
Thanks. I am from toronto, but have relatives in Vcr whom I periodically visit. I want to meet Mike the next te.
Nice! I'm waiting for Mike to finish my MK. I'm considering the DK5 also. I have a SK for sale , cant handle 19mm anymore. Mike is a great guy, hope you get to meet him sometime. He builds amazing basses. The tone of the Kinal is just amazing. Check out Luthiers Access Group if you want to demo one.
