So I thought this was cool. Thom Yorke played a "secret" show of mostly his solo album Eraser with a live band consisting of Joey Waronker (drummer for Beck/Smashing Pumpkins/R.E.M./Ima Robot), Nigel Goodrich (Radiohead producer), Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco and Flea on bass.

    Pretty good stuff IMO.

From what I understand they did rehearse - for three weeks or so. But I have no idea whether this new band will tour or record I have no idea.

If you look closely at one of the pics flea is playing a P bass, nice, never thought I would see the day.

Well he DID play a vintage Jazz Bass (with flats) on most of Stadium Arcadium and for part of the tour before going back to the Modulus because he felt it cut through better.

Actually what I was getting at was his versatility. I wonder what other gigs he would do if given the chance...

Well he's already played with Young MC, Alanis Morrissette, and The Mars Volta among others. I get that a lot of people don't dig him because they don't like the RHCP (or just their recent output) or because he gets a disproportionate amount of acclaim.

Still, I really dig his playing and approach and he is a lot more versatile than people give him credit for.

But I love Thom Yorke/Radiohead as much or more.
