Thomastic Spirocores for sale

Discussion in 'DB Classifieds Archive' started by IainT, May 5, 2004.

  1. They've only had about 10 hours playing time and I've now changed to innovation RABs.
I'm open to any sensible offer, either reply here or send me an email.
I'm also in the UK so it would be much easier to deal with someone from over here.

    What gauge are these Spirocores?

  3. Sorry I forgot to add that info. I'll check when I get home tonight and post a full description tomorrow

I've had a look on the packaging and I'm afriad I can't understand anything it says. Unless I'm being daft and missing something obvious I can't honestly say.
I have however measured the string gauges for you and they are:
    E 0.116" or 2.96mm
    A 0.085" or 2.18mm
    D 0.066" or 1.69mm
    G 0.052" or 1.33mm

The only other thing I can think to mention is that the scale length is for a 3/4 size bass.
Any more questions please email me

Here's an easier way to answer the question: what color are the string windings at the top of the string (i.e. at the peg box, where they wind around the tuning pegs)? Purple=weich (or light), red=orchestra (or medium, mittel), and some other color (?) equals stark, or high-tension, which I've never seen.
    Inquiring minds want to know...
  6. The windings are red which I now know to be an orchestral set.

The wording on the packaging does say Nur Fur Orchesterstimmung.

Thank you for educating me on this one.
  7. Hi are your strings still for sale?
