So I bought a set of Jazz Bass flats from TI a couple of weeks ago. They are for a very over the top and expensive Fretless conversion project. The project is delayed at the moment, I won't be able to afford to finish this project till this summer. While I have this expensive set of strings sitting around, I would love to put them on my Fender Jaguar Bass. I have never played flats before, so I would like to hear how they sound.

There is no problem with temporarily putting them on another bass, is there? Their ultimate destination is the fretless, but until then, I would love to hear how they sound on my main bass, the fretted Jaguar.

Is there an issue with adjusting the bridge if I install them on the Jaguar and play them for a couple of weeks?

  2. If the guage is different you have to do intonation which is easy. Other that that, go for it.

so the intonation would be just adjusting the bridge saddles? I wouldn't have to touch the neck/ truss rod?

OK nevermind!!! I got it figured out.
