...Do you put it on the ground (stage) or use some kind of stand to lift the cab?
I do both and more. Usually I have both my 112's stacked.
When I use one single I either put it on the Auralex Gramma Pad or on the mini stand depending on the situation. A few times I had to split the two 112's and leave on the G-Pad and the other tilting up on the stand.
http://www.quiklok.com/ either the BS-313 or BS-317
i use mine on the stage. of course, it's shooting at my ankles, so i guess "focus" isn't my priority at that point. we also use a PA sub every time we play (i'm glad my drummer insists on it and carries it). between the sub and the stage resonance, it sounds pretty huge. and also tight.
"stage resonance" is partly key in deciding to put the cab on the floor (you'll feel it AND hear your sound). if you're playing on a hard (concrete) floor you may want to point your cab towards you and or the other band members so they hear what your doing, especially the drummer.
i put my 2 112's on an Ultimate stand with a GRAMMA pad under them.....
Mine will sit on a table.
I sit mine on the floor with a 2x10 on top.
I put mine on the floor.
use a combo, but floor...
thump thumpity thum you can hear it through the floor...
One Avatar CB112, on the floor...either for small gigs or medium gigs with PA support. This goes with a GK 700RB and the rig is plenty clear and big sounding.
I'll put it up on a milk crate if I need to hear it better, don't feel like bending over to adjust the amp knobs or want to reduce the low end without grabbing for the EQ. Otherwise it goes on the floor.
If I'm just using one 1/12......I'm like Brian....milk crate
If no stand or milk crate or chair is handy, I'll take the soft case (mooradian) that I use for my WW Ultra and fold it up and put it under the front of the 112 to tilt it up. The WW will still stick on top ok.
Usually: on the floor, with the built-in tilt up foot engaged.
