I have a very nice sunburst Player Precision bass with a maple neck. The pickguard is white and I'm feeling that it's just too bright. Any suggestions for a good replacement pickguard color? I'm leaning towards tortoise shell but I'd welcome any other ideas.
Can't go wrong with tort or black. ... If you're feeling a vintage vibe perhaps anodised gold colour for the '57 look? Gold looks GOOD.
With the maple board, I'd go gold. Rosewood, I'd go tort. But I don't like playing on rosewood, so I don't use tort; therefore, definitely gold.
Black. To narrow your choices. Thank me later. (BTW a thread like this one works better with pics, just sayin'...)
