  2. These preamps are phat! Pull the midrange knob for a different frequency sweep...
From memory I think these are setup with the fender tone stack and very much like the Alembic pre.

Yes sir.....very much like the Fender tone stack!

Bass @ 0 and Treble @ 0, with Mids at Max is flat.

The eq is passive and 'interactive', the settings of one influence the others so very little adjustment will go a long way.
Playing with the gain and master is fun....but only works when using the Line Out (not the D.I.)

I just put mine back in my rack today after my Pope went down for the count at last night's gig. Definitely a great unit. I seem to prefer pulling the mid stack out and at about 1 o'clock.

I own a TE V-Type preamp and think it is really a great unit that captures the classic Showman tone stack very nicely. Some call it the "poor man's Alembic F-1X" and it does measure up to it (IMHO ... I have an F-1X, too). One advantage it has over the F-1X is that you can dial up some grit with it whereas the Alembic can only be clean, cleaner or cleanest. ;^) GLWTS.
