Are threads automatically capped off and closed when they hit 1000 posts?
Not automatically. A mod has to do it when it's brought to his attention.
I've read that the TB servers do not function optimally with heavily trafficked threads over 1000 posts. Or something along those lines.
Posts over 1000 are like crossing the streams. Don't do it, bro.
Spengler: Don't cross the streams.
Spengler: It would be bad.
Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad"?
Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Ray Stantz: Total protonic reversal.
Venkman: Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.
I thought this was going to be about bed sheets
Can you get your mind off of Egyptian cotton for even a few moments?!
But it's so....luxurious!!!
You get a free bass if your post happens to be number 1000, but you're seriously tempting fate by continuing past the 1000 mark.
Do i still get the free bass if i posted #s 1-999 also? I feel as if could make a living doing this...
If you go far past the 1000 posts mark, all of us moderators get a phone call. All at once. There is only one sentence uttered which only the moderators know, and understand. It's an old language, long forgotten by many.
From there, it's a very top secret process to take care of the thread, and the poster.
You can, but there's a catch. If you miss, and end up being post #1001, we take one of your basses. Hit #1002, we take 2 of your basses, and so on. That's how we get the basses to give to the people who were #1000.
Any extra basses are donated to music school programs.
The eagle has deficated?
Addendum: Post 1066 spawns a Norman invasion.
Norman, is that you ?
( cue the violins ... )
I suppose this is another example of a poster who Bates his threads with pun opportunities.:|
Welp, time to move. No one will ever take my precious Peaveys... Never, I say!
Probably safe to move on while there's only 900+ posts left in this thread. Don't want to cut things too close.
Why spend any more time here? I heard the eagle already defecated. None for me, thanks.
