I didn't know 3/5 of Gentle Giant members were together touring as a group called Three Friends. Here's some YouTube vids and a lesson for the younger folk on a very underrated band. listen and learn. no Ray or Derek Shulman though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ6zjgDFZiw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QaFMYji-fw&feature=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JWk0VyFmxc&feature=related
Thanks for posting. Gentle Giant has been one of my favorite bands since I saw them live as a last minute, unknown replacement as an opening act for Humble Pie in 1973. I think they never did that well in the U.S. due to the complexities of the songs but they did well in Europe.
same with me. just trolling along and found the info. 3 former members of GG. Musically they sound stellar and it's as close as you're going to get to the original band. Mortimer is drumming very fine. They are also going to put out some new music. They are in Montreal in September but it's already sold out. They are playing to audiences of only several hundred.
It never ceases to amaze me that I'm not the only GG fan in America. Been into them since the Free Hand album. Pure greatness. thanks for the link.
