Thumb Bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by John-Paul666, Aug 22, 2005.

  1. This may sound a bit dumb, but what is a thumb bass, is it one that you use plucking the strings with your thumb or is it just the name of it.

A company named "Warwick" makes a bass called the "Thumb Bass" ;)

  3. I probably phrased it incorrectly, is it specifically made so that you have to use your thumb on the strings or is just the name of it.

    No.

That is just the name of the body style.

Take a look at it. See anything on it that looks like a thumb?

Yep, you can play anything you want with your thumb, but this is the name of the body style.
