Thumb Bass

    i've heard people talking about thumb basses...what is the difference between a thumb and a regular bass? can anyone shine some light on this for me?

    Not much different than other basses except that they KICK-YASS!!!

    Mine is a bolt on (attached)

    I think I understand your confusion. A Thumb Bass is a line of basses sold under the brand name "Warwick". Warwick also sells basses called "Dolphin", "Streamer", "Corvette", etc. It's the same thing as Music Man selling the "Sterling" or "Stingray". It's the same thing as Fender selling the "Precision" or "Jazz Bass".

    i thought that there was a special type of playing method or sound associated with a thumb bass. thanx.
