Thumb versus precisions...looks factor

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Nickthebassist, Aug 30, 2004.

  1. Which one is nicer? I can't seem to find anything wrong with the precision, yet I seem to despise them. Does anyone else think this? I love the Thumb, yet I still think it's 'thumb' is kinda odd looking, but yet I find it very cool. I'm confused, so I am turning to you bassists out there to sort me head out lol. :bag:

I think the Percision is one sexy bass.
The Thunb grows on you though.
    Whatever you like?

Do you like apples (P-basses) or rotten bananas (thumbs)?

Cant see how you can compare. I like both.

Depends on color combo of P bass though. I love some P basses, hate others.

    I love that Pbass...daaang, it's nice!

  10. I'd say P-bass, all the way. Classy yet "in your face" kind of look and sound.

Thumb over P bass, J bass over Thumb.

Although none of them balance and they're heavy as hell!

J basses seem to balance for me. As do some p basses.

Yeah. Js aren't TOO bad. I wear mine up reallly high with a leather strap, though, so it ain't goin'anywhere.
But if you've ever play'd a bass like a Huff or a Browne; holy hell. You can find the sweet spot in the middle of the heel and balance it on one finger, no problem. Seriously, I've done it! When I get my Browne and my Huff, I may even try spinning them!

  14. They're both sexy in their own unique way. Also, how is a bunch of opinions on what bass looks best going to influence your decision on what you like? Either you like one design, or you like the other, or you like them both. My DeArmond and Ibanez have 2 different designs, I like em both, some think the DeArmond is ugly and hate the design, but as long as I like it thats all that counts.

  15. But I'm confused as to why I suddenly don't like precisions, yet I used to love them. I'm ery confused about a lot of things right now.... :-(

    Two things you should know:

    The hair is perfectly natural.

Ask your mom or dad before you put it in your mouth.

  17. I'm not laughing. That ain't funny, if you knew what I'm worried about(and no, it aint physical), you would be worried too.

I've always been a fan of 3 colour burst with tort guard. Saw some dude on that Concert for George with a tri-burst tort guard P and it was awesome. I think it looks good on Jazz basses as well.
