So I just wanted to share a cool sound I got last night. I took a Tacoma Thunderchief and put GHS black nylon strings on it. then took one of my wifes scarfs and tied it around the strings by the bridge. Put it through the Ashdown RPM/Crown Base 2, into the Ashdown 414T. It had a really cool thud to the sound, but with as much presence as you want or don't want. It has a quick decay with a fat tone. And the Ashdown is a great amp for acoustic instruments as it doesn't feedback as easily. This is a good alternative to not wanting to travel w/ an upright, especially when an upright isn't needed on most songs, only a few.
