Thunderfunk 550 Users-what rack bags do you use??

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Bassossorus, Nov 10, 2005.

  1. I have mine in a standard SKB hard rack. Works great! Unfortunately, the newer models are too deep to fit in the SKB shallow racks.

I'm using a protec 2 space rack bag. It's cool and all, but I'd definitely be open to a lighter one if there's one around that provides as good protection

I am using a 3 space Gator bag for my Aguilar AG-500. Nice bag and a fairly cheap $65. Plus it only weighs like 7 or 8 lbs.

I had for a while my TF550 into a Protec 2U rack bag. Great bag, nothing to say, but one day I ask myself about the opportunity to buy a 15 lbs. amp and then store it into a bag augmenting weight and dimensions. So I decided to go "naked"! :D
One day I went to a store and found one of those professional CD case used by DJ's: it's made out of an (to me) unknown material, very light, something like "foam" ...sorry, I really can't explain it better. Its interior was filled by sheets containing the CDs: I cut 'em all out and all that remained was the "shell" where the Thunderfunk PERFECTLY fitted!!! It's like a a kinda "TF foamish glove"!!! :D
Of course I know that a rack bag offers more protection so one should better consider also the use (and the abuse) that he usually makes of the gear he carries around but I think that a similar solution offers a good protection from scratches and small/medium hits.

Here's a better protection "naked" solution.

    TF fits perfectly.

I carry mine in a aluminum hardcase and remove it as needed.
$25 at Lowes. Has a thin layer of foam on top and the feet sit on a rubberized foam layer.

Oh yeah, I know a couple of people here use them. I'd like to check it out one of these ... better to carry around than my "home modified CD case" (and lot of pockets too)!

I use a 3 space Protec soft case that also houses my wireless.
I think it's great. Everything stays hooked up.
I plug in the speaker cable and the power cord and I'm done.

Try this. (it says 3 left...)

It is 13x16 vs. the other was 13x17. I don't think the inch will make a difference.
