It occurred to me just now that a lot of great bass players have alliterative names (intellectually I know it probably isn't any higher than the general population, but still...) Who I thought of off the top of my head (trying to stick to actual names and not nicknames): James Jamerson (hallowed be thy name) James Jamerson Jr. (Triple!) Donald Dunn Carol Kaye Bob Babbitt Willie Weeks Marcus Miller Steve Swallow John (paul) Jones (technically not his real name, but I'll let it slide) How many can we come up with?
This is a stretch...although renowned as an avant garde guitarist, Fred Frith has played bass in a band with Richard Thompson, Henry Kaiser, and Beefheart drummer John French for two albums.
