Tiger wood

    hey, im building a rainbow bass, as you probably have seen, and i am using a wood called tiger wood, or gonalco alves, as it is called too. i used it the neck, and i was wondering if anybody else had used it before, thnx

    Warmoth makes necks with it.

    haha, no, not golf, but thanks pilot, it looks pretty sweet, and i ran out of maple, HUUH, i know. i could have waited like an hour and got more, but i decided to go with it, looks cool, and if warmoth uses it, its good enough for me

    It should result in a fairly heavy neck, though. By the numbers (and yes, every board is unique), goncalo alves is 50% heavier than hard maple.

    Hey,

    Just remembered that Kinal used this wood (goncalo alves) for some basses. Now I have a top lying here for a jazz bass to build. It looks really great especially waxed and all. It is heavy, so i won't use it in the neck, but soundwise and visually it is one of my favorites for a top.
