I was having my LB75 setup and my guitar guy said that the truss rod was very tight and could not turn it any further. He has lubricated the truss rods on other guitars but the truss bolt is welded on. He asked if I would post this situation on the forum to see if we can get feedback on this problem.

A little history... this bass was stored for 4 years and it got very dry. The neck was setup by another shop but it could have been better. I discovered this one man shop and a gentleman who does setups and vintage guitar restoration and he has been trying to help me with the problem. Presently the Bass is stored in the case with a humidifier and strings are loosened after practicing. We are hoping that the neck gives up some bow so that we can get a the action lower.

Also my action got a little higher when I installed D'addario Chromes?
Any ideas for this midlife newbie who just started playing again!!
