so when im practicing a song on the high end of my B string i sometimes get tightness in my wrist, no pain at all just tightness and if i give it a few minutes to rest it loosens up and also i do bend my wrist but not very much and i make sure to not let it bend as much as possible by pulling my arm away so it straightens the wrist a bit and using the tips of my fingers so overall my question is is it a bad sign if theres tightness like it could lead to carpal tunnel etc or something?

Can you take a "selfie" of yourself playing on the high end of the B string, so we can take a look and give you specific advice about your technique?

  3. Good idea on the photo. Little tightness left alone could flow into Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I've just developed the first stages of CT and it all comes from sloppy technique. Just be aware..... I had passed the tingle stage to the pain stage so I sleep with the $19 brace from WalMart - this gives my wrist 6 to 8 hours of rest a night and does seem to help.

Doing this on a normal days I have no tingle.

I'll try to post a picture tonight of my wrist and how fat it's bent, and it doesn't hurt just builds up tension after awhile of playing (not do to the fact that some people tens up well trying to play something hard etc)
