time for a new bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by RockStar571, Jan 19, 2003.

  1. i've hoarded up about $1000 and it's about to be used on a new bass and i was wanting your opinions on what kind of bass i should invest my newly amassed fortune in?

i play jazz at school and classic rock with my dad's band but i also play metal with my own band so i'm looking for something pretty versatile....thanks in advance

For around the 1000 mark, a little higher actually, not much, but there are two obvious winners in my opinion.

    -Rickenbacker 4003
    -MusicMan Stingray

Either one will get you good versatility and great tone and feel. Try em out, you'll fall in love with at least one of the two.

  3. !!! :)

you could also try the Fender Jazz & Percision..

If you are thinking 4 string, you pretty much can pick from most of the beast out there.

I'd just play as many as you can and pick out the one you want.

  6. I hear G&Ls are extremely versatile.
  7. see there's only one problem with play as many as you can plan...i live in eastern kentucky the nearest warwick dealer is about 150 miles away...and that's the ONLY high end bass dealer that i know of in the state
