I want to pull the old pups out of my Squier Affinity P-Bass and put some half-way decent ones in so I have a dependable backup bass in case my RBX760 dies on me for whatever reason. Ive seen $40 pups such as Seymour Duncan's, but are they any good?

Also, what are some other decent pickup suggestions that are in the lower price range ($40-$70)? My Squier is a sturdy bass, I just dont like the tone much.

EDIT: Also, how do the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders measure up?

Id like to keep it passive, as well.

    Thanks for any help.

The SD quarter pounders are highly thought of here.

They seem to produce a fat punchy tone which is ideal for P-basses.

Thanks, I think I might end up goin down the quarter pounder route. :)

Im not going to have to modify the pickup cavity any am I? Because I know the squier affinity body is slightly different than normal Fenders... when I replaced the pickguard they had to special order it to fit. :-\
