Hi all. I found this thread which has a lot of dated suggestions. Tiny bass cab?

I'm looking for a tiny cab (1x8 or 1x10) that is 8 ohms for a small home rig.

Are there any suggestions for stuff that is easy to find and not crazy expensive?

Look around for an Eden or SWR 1X10.

You'll likely omit what might seem dated, but the truth is, if it sounded fantastic 20 years ago, it will still sound fantastic today.

Current cabs are very expensive (except the chinese ones)

I love my Genz-Benz 1x8, but they're hard to find.

I just sold my tiny Barefaeced One10 and grabbed a pair of even tinier Trace Elliot ELF 110 cabs, with money left over.

Nothing beats the Barefaced on anything though. Except cost.

    Here’s my home practice amp.
Bag End 8 ohm 10” cab with the Quilter is perfect. Sounds great and the headphone Jack on Quilter is on front panel which is very convenient. C42FD7F4-5C58-42CC-8EA9-A9DC12D4E080.jpeg

20210613_180156.jpg Adding the Acoustic Image doubleshot. 13lbs, 500w at 4Ohm. Sounds really good and fits in a tom tom bag. Did an outdoors gig with it last Summer. More than worth the money.

The best one I think is the EA Wizzy 1X10 by EA. It comes with tilt legs and the transmission M-line technology or whatever really works. Beats most 1 X 10 by a mile, 250watt RMS

I used to have an Eden EX112 which was really good. They also made an EX110 which I never tried but lots of people have said good things about them.

I have owned some small cabs over the years... things get smaller, lighter & more expensive all the time!
Of the 12" speakers I tried, the bergantino AE12's - very efficient, just a little too HiFi for me.
Aguilar GS12's - suited me just fine, perfect tone for me (subjective as that always is!) ..but wanted to get lighter weight... so Aguilar SL12's next.. nice.. but leaning on the 'too HiFi' for my personal taste again..
A GK MBE neo 2x10 cab works great for me live at the moment..that particular range is discontinued and it's getting battered over the years.. may need a replacement some day... I tried a barefaced 2x10 which I must say I really didn't like...no warmth!
    So getting to proper small...
I tried the Trace Elliott Elf 2x8 cab recently.. I think it has potential.. well built, got guts, tried it with 2 heads that I use.. Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 and the actual Elf head (my gig bag backup)
It maybe worth a look... I think I would need 2 of them though, a 4 ohm load would stand up better with a full live band...

    Define "Crazy Expensive".
Everyone's definition of that phrase is different.
What is your realistic budget? Until you define a specific price limit, everyone will just be naming their favorite small cabinet which you might or might not be able to afford.
For example Trace Elliot 110 $300 USD. Bareface One10 $591.10 USD
If you have $600 to spend, they are both options, if you only have 300...

  20. I have my eye on the 8" ELF combo. 200w and a fancy Faital driver and weighing 17# are big pluses in my book.
