Before i start, i'll say i've done a search and didn't find much. if i missed a past thread, feel free to point me in that direction and kill this one.

I am now close to having enough money to buy a new bass. I've tried an absolute shedload, and i've come down to either an ASAT hollowbody or a stingray4, but i think i'm leaning toward stingray as they are easier to get hold of in the UK. I am also thinking of buying used so i don't lose any money on the bass if i choose to re sell.

Anyway, all i ask is for tips and a list of things i should be looking for on a bass (fretwork, bridge, neck dive, etc. etc.)that i can put into a document and take to shops, so i remember to look at the important aspects of the bass. I know what i like to hear, i'm just not very experienced at the crafting of basses, and i don't want to get a lemon!

    Cheers guys
