I don't think this will be your standard Love TI's, as I think I have a little different twist.

So to start, I love the tone! I love the feel! It my default go to string.

But....for E and B strings, I am finding that because they are a little on the floppy side, I can't set the action as low as I would like.

A,D, and G strings are all OK, and I can typically set the action to .005 to .007 at first fret.

But E and B strings....forget it. I have to go higher that that

I can get better action on E and B strings with a stiffer stings.

    Anybody else experience this?

    Cheers

i assume you're referring to the flats?

TI jazz rounds (4 bangers, here) also have a 'looser' E string, but i got used to it (easy peasy for me) after a few minutes. playing with a slightly lighter touch helped.

Yes, my observation here is with flats, and yes, I did get used to the floppiness of the E string

On one of my basses, I put on Chromes, and I could get the action nice and low on all of the strings without issue, but not quite the same tone.

There's probably a direct correlation with my action set to medium and use of TI flats.

TBH: i have no real experience playing more than 4 strings (EADG), so i'm going to assume that even 'the great TIs' haven't resolved the B-string-floppiness dilemma.
