To truss-rod-cover, or not to truss-rod-cover?

    Okay, so I builded this bass.. It's nearly completed but now I've got a dillema.. I made a truss rod cover, I think it's brass.. (It's gold and shiny) so put it on the bass, and somehow, it seems to me that it doesn't "suit" the bass.. I dunno, should I trow it away and make a plastic black one? Or take my time and try to get used to the other one.. Damn, major dillema..
    Oppinion's please :help:

    Really nice job! +1 the cover is not happening as it is.

    Is there any way to match it to the headstock veneer... that would be perfect for that beautiful instrument. If no.. then black plastic would work fine IMO..

    Nice instrument!
