I went to see DM's band TOBER tonite @ CBGB's in NYC & all I gotta saay is I was BLOWN AWAY!!!! These guy's were GREAT. DM's is a real great bassist & Salas bass looked real nice. I should of asked to play it. Oh well, next show. :) It was refreshing to see a good band locally.

The band was very tight. I only noticed one mistake in the set. The only thing I didn't like was that they looked to happy to be playing such aggressive, heavy music. :) When people see Theorem, they tell me that they're scared of me cause I look so ANGRY. LOL. I hope they play in the NYC area more often so I can see them again. If any of you have a chance to see them, DON'T HESITATE, you WILL NOT be dissapointed!!!!!

It's great to hear TBers supporting fellow members! I have to add, Tober's website has got to have the coolest artwork in the art gallery.

Congrats DM. Yous should come aut ta Allentown, but next time I find myself in NYC, I'll check the gig calendar for ya (and Theorum and the Nerve). Is anyone else from NYC?

I was actually trying to get somthing booked for my band out there eventually (it's my home turf), but my band's out of Philly and It's hard enough to get established locally. Someone said if I were interested, we should do a tryout at Eileen's Grocery in the Village (I never hoid of it) or the Bitter End lets you do a short demo set too.

  5. Wish I coulda been there, DarkMazda. Unfortunately, I'm half way across the country. Dammit, why can't there be any Kansas/Missouri Talkbassers? :(

I'm from New York but I live in Nazareth now (I've lived most everywhere). My band is out of Philly burbs. Twice a week up and down the NE turnpike extension for about an hour. I'd like to get them up here eventually.

    But enough about me!!!

There are a few decent clubs in Allentown for bands (Crockadile Rock and Casey's). My band isn't in that league yet but I'm sure you big-timers could play there. I'd go to see anyone.

Talking of supporting other Talkbassers, I noticed on the calendar today that Fishbrain's band was playing in Liverpool, at a place I've played myself a few times. I was going to go down, but my band was practising.

If anyone ever happens to come to Liverpool for whatever reason (not that I can think of any good ones myself. ), let me know because we play the Cavern most weeks. Alright, it's just a blatant plug for my band, but I've got to take the opportunity when I see it!

Only one in name, maybe. Only one at all? Yeah, if you leave out the other thousand...

  18. Or only one the guts to say I'm Canadian, eh!
