I came home from college today and on my porch was my new '62 re-issuse loaded control plate, new NJ4 pickups (Thanks Jay from Blueberry Bass) and my new set of DR low rider strings. After about an hour and a half of soldering, stupid fabric insulated wires, I put the strings on and had myself a "new" bass, sounds and looks totally different. The "old" bass was a 2000 MIA Jazz (teal) with stock pickups and a J-Retro. Man does this thing growl. I can't wait to play it tonight at our gig. I wish I could take a pic but I don't have a camera. Fender should make the NJ4 their stock pickups.
