He/she doesn't care about the music - just wants to play dress up.

    That's a lovely guitar he's got.

I've certainly heard of worse concepts for a band.

Well, they state their influences include Ghost. The picture is of A Nameless Ghoul, from the band Ghost.

    Aha! That splains alot...

  8. Will it be a duo called Batman and Robin, or a country band called The Lone Rangers?
  9. That is actually one of the best written CL adds I have seen. Short, concise, to the point. I'm not interested or local, or I would probably call.

Willing to play anything. If I were close, I'd offer him a spot in my ABBA tribute idea. We could make the masks work, I'm sure.

  11. I love the idea of being in an originals band like this. Too old to appeal to teens? No big deal--you have a mask. Have an injury or just don't want to go on tour? No problem--put someone else competent in your outfit and the show goes on. The anonymity lets the audience project whatever they want onto the band, making the experience unique for each listener. Finally, when you're ready to retire, pass on the songs and the outfits to a younger crew and keep on collecting royalties while never having to worry about being hounded by the press or obsessed fans.

Congratulations! You're now the Dread Pirate Roberts of rock.

I had a couple friends who occasionally played with a masked band. The Mentors! Hooded perhaps, but the same idea. This sounds like a band with an outstanding future.

    Masks also facilitate personnel changes.

Would the Who be considered an anonymous band?

  18. Concept has worked pretty well for the Blue Man Group...Not really a band in the traditional sense, more of a trademarked business enterprise with multiple outlets...but they started that way - a band of guys making music without personal identity in it.
