  1. "Excuse me, but can you remove the cables and the big boxes (amps and monitors). We want it to be Instagram-friendly, so people will take pictures". Ooookey.

    Do it. :D

  3. They did hire a "band," right?! If they hired models, consider that models may be better paid than the band.... Negotiate.

  6. If they had hired models with instruments and used playback, I'm sure everybody there would have been happy. :(

    life in the fast lane!

  8. It was some kind of reception in an "Interior Concept Store". The main audience looked like typical "influencers" (that's not a real job!), with expensive handbags, small dogs and loads of botox fillers. I feel filthy.

    Hi JRA :)

Actually not! I think today a lot of time is just wasted with all those selfies and filming

I think back in the days we lived faster! (in a positive way)

Live was more real! You could not watch yourself replayed in slow motion a thousand times.

(at least not without drugs :D)

When the party was over, you had better things to do than

to watch all the crap folks post about it on the net.

    e.g.

    And take them home!

It seems clear to me like the people who hired the band have a specific aesthetic in mind. Especially since their thing is interior concepts. If they write the check I think it's fair for them to also make staging suggestions, assuming it doesn't interfere with your ability to hear each other.

I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that removing the cables and amps guarantees nobody hears anything. I can understand if you have a wireless setup with everything going direct, but those things need to be specified up front because many bands can't provide that.

I'm not saying it's doable! Just pointing out that whoever hired the band probably has worked over the details of every visual component. Probably an oversight in their mind how much stuff a band requires to perform.
