    John P.,

I owned a Tokai Hardpuncher for several years. I bought it from a friend for $100 bucks and it was an excellent P-Bass copy. Unfortunately, I traded it toward a '74 Jazz Bass a few years ago, but I would definitely buy another at the right price. I currently own a Tokai Jazz Bass, which I had re-fretted and added Bartolini pickups and a Gotah bridge. I have a few other "lawsuit era" Japanese jazz basses and if you find the right one (Daion, Tokai, Aria Pro II, Ibanez, etc.) at a good price and condition, you'll probably dig it.

    i had one...

bought it cheap, but it wasn't worth the money because the neck was 'twisted' and couldn't be adjusted at all... maybe defect ?

    terrible to play.
