There was a small thread that just barely touched on this topic but I have a few things to add regarding tolex durability and more importantly in my case how to repair it. My used Peavey TNT115 was bought with a scratch in the bag on the tolex. Soon the scratch became a tear and most recently as a result of semiweekly HS jazz band rehearsals the tear has grown considerably. Any ideas on a quick fix or permanent mend? Glenn
After that, heat up a piece of wire or a knife blade and melt the edges together. Gotta be careful doing it, but it will keep them from peeling up again.
from the tear, tear the rest of the tolex off and replace with extremely durable carpet not a fan of tolex
half a dozen pieces of duct tape strategically palced is my quick fix for now but transporting in and out of a station wagon often peels back the duct tape(better the tape then the tolex). Keep the suggestions coming at bump city!
