I am very fearful of the tolex covering on my peavey 4x10. When I had my 4x12, some of it got ripped off very easily while moving it around. I don't want the same thing to happen to my 4x10. This tolex stuff is really thin and can be easily rubbed off which is ugly as hell. I wish they still made the carpet covered cabs because IMO they are more durable.

IMO carpet is way better than Tolex. It protects the cab better and lasts longer. And IMHO it just looks better. Some people say carpet is no good because it can get dirty and smell like cigarette smoke, but you can just use some Fabreeze or carpet cleaner to get it out.

Carpet is good unless you have cats. Cats are the carpet covered cab's nemesis. I think the industrial spray-on coverings, such as the Line-X truck bed liner, are the best. Very durable and repairable and immune to cats. Also available in colors.
