I was watching an old Venture Bros. episode on Adult Swim's website and after it was done, it immediately segued into the next video which was an episode of Tom Goes To The Mayor called Bass Fest. I don't normally like this show but this one is pretty funny. Mostly the first half.
You guys seen this? I guess I forgot that Bob Odenkirk was the Executive Producer of this show.

On a side note, anyone been checked out Garth Marenghi's Dark Place yet?
That one's kinda growing on me too.

Gonna take a wild stab and predict Murderface isn't involved in this Bass Fest. Amirite?

Tom Goes to the Mayor was the worst show I had ever seen in my life until Tim and Eric Awesome Show replaced it.

It's hilarious, THIS really is the overall reaction to the show. For me, it's one of the only shows now a days worth watching.

I will warn you, coming from a fan: Some of it is the funniest stuff I've ever seen, some of it, the worst. This new season has been fairly reliable, last season was real hit or miss.

  12. That's how I've always felt about all of Tim & Eric's creations. Some stuff is hi-freaking-larious. Other stuff makes me wonder why I bother watching at all.

I'm not a fan of taking photos, using graphic effects to turn the photos blue and white, and calling it animation.

As basic as Aqua Teen's animation was, at least their stuff was drawn, not just photos of people passed as animation and dry, monotone voice acting.

I still herald Harvey Birdman as Adult Swim's funniest, fastest-paced, most rapid-fire comedy they've done. Season 2 was a gemstone after gemstone of comedy.

Mentok doing a barber shop quartet, on his own, was the single funniest thing I've seen on Adult Swim. AND THEY NEVER SHOWED A RERUN OF THAT EPISODE! COMMUNISTS!!!

Uhm, how is that not animation? It's moving pictures. It's actually my favorite thing about Adult Swim, they are spitting in the face of animation. Recycling old hanna barbara stock images, having characters that have 4 generic movements and that's it. It's proving that if you've got ideas, it doesn't matter if you can draw.

And really, I never heard Tim and Eric bragging about the quality of TGTTM's animation quality.

Rakie Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to...

A lot of stuff isn't hand drawn, and I don't know for sure, but I don't think that AquaTeen HF was hand drawn, maybe at first then rendered...

The Harvey Birdman went to incredibly meticulous detail to animate some of that show's finest, most hectic moments. And that show had 20 of those moments per episode. That's a hell of a lot of work going into that show.

Tom Goes to the Mayor just snaps silly poses, runs a photoshop filter, shows one blued picture for 3 seconds, and earns a fat paycheck. It's the equivalent of The White Stripes getting a Grammy and Steve Morse getting third-rate treatment by the music community.

Harvey Birdman is an awesome show. Big fan of Sealab: 2021 as well.

I made a thread about Bassfest a year ago. Love Tom Goes To The Mayor. Really like some of TAEASGJ, really dislike some of it. It's risky, and I appreciate that.
