Tonal Newbie - The start of a decent effects chain? Any input appreciated.

Beginning my education on adding a bit of color to my tone. A good start? I am now interested in adding an envelope filter possibly. The Zoom pedal is a toy to me. I will probably give it to my 11 year old along with a Mikro bass, cheezy chinese 8" Roland amp, and my original Bass Pod (I bought one when they 1st came out and Oh how I hated it). For an 11 year old just learning bass I think it is appropriate.
