I'm not sure if this is the right forum. Moderators move as you see fit

I'm trying to get the victor Wooten tone and I'm a perfectionist so I want to get almost his exact tone. I just don't have his caliber gear. Tips and help? I am running an ibanez sr506 through a trace Elliot AH500-7

A big part of his tone is the EMG P/J pickups. Big, full-range, and clear. Of course, just copping his pickups is not going to get you his tone, but definitely a step in the right direction.

Have you read his book? "The Music Lesson" was a darn good read, and while he doesn't discuss gear specifically, it's a great insight into his approach to music. Required reading, in my opinion, if you're trying to cop his sound.
