the preamp on a custom 6 of mine gave up the ghost recently.
i've been reading up on all the TB faves, all of which have excellent tonal palettes..

but i came across this on ebay, and checked out the buzz on an earlier TB thread. it took 2 days to arrive, and we dropped it in today.

it sounds great. deep rich lows, focused but weighty...
clear bright highs, from cello to jazz guitar..
smooth, colorful and sweepable mids (parametric stacked pot).

$38 bucks. it's a great value, and actually sounds tighter and more articulate than the original pre.

i know that a soundwave is worth a thousand words- i'll try to get some clips up at some point.
