tony levin albums

  1. hey all! my bass teacher gave me tony levins waters of eden and i loved it. anyone know of any other albums that are worth checking out by him. ive also heard of something called liquid tension experiment. anyone know anything bout that?

    Didn't particularly like the LTE CD; it's very Dream Theater-y. If you want to hear some good Levin, I'd recommend Peter Gabriel's "Secret World Live" or King Crimson's "Discipline". The latter's an acquired taste, but a prog-rock classic.

    For some out-there stuff, try his disc From the Caves of the Iron Mountain. It's TL on Stick and electric upright bass, along with Steve Gorn on bansuri flute and Jerry Marotta on percussion. It's ethereally beautiful...
